BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1961, Munis Dündar graduated from Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 1985. He received his PhD degree in Medical Genetics from Glasgow University between 1990-1994 and completed his specialization degree in Medical Genetics Department of Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine in 1996. In 1995, he was appointed as Assistant Professor, in 1997 as Associate Professor and in 2003 he was appointed as Professor.
Prof. Dr. Munis Dündar has 213 international publications, 40 national publications and 204 papers published in reputable scientific journals, as well as 6 books and 17 book chapters. With 3680 citations, Prof. Dr. Munis Dündar has a scientific career with Google Scholar H index 25 and Web of Science H index 18. Prof. Dr. Munis Dündar has 3 syndromes defined in the field of Clinical Genetics. In addition to the syndromes he defined in the literature, Prof. Dr. Munis Dündar has edited and authored many valuable reference books, which are the first examples written in our country in their field and in this context.
The book “Current Applications of Biotechnology”, which is accepted as a biotechnology textbook and reference book in European Universities, was published in 2015 under the chief editorship of Munis Dündar with the participation of valuable faculty members of many European universities and Erciyes University.
Munis Dündar has also been the President of the European Biotechnology Thematic Network Association (EBTNA) since 2011. He is also the editor-in-chief of “The EuroBiotech Journal”, which was launched in 2017 under the leadership of the European Biotechnology Association.
Munis Dündar has served as chairman and organizing committee member in more than 50 congresses and symposia. He also conducts European Biotechnology congresses, symposia and international training programs within the scope of EBTNA.
In addition, Munis Dündar was among the foreign members elected to the Belarusian National Scientific Academy in 2021. On 23 May 2023, he made a presentation titled ‘Biotechnological uses in protective health services wordwide’ as an invited speaker at the round table meeting organized by the World Health Organization and represented Turkey in the international arena.
